Hello all,
If you have acted on this, please let me know, trying to keep a tally.
If you have not.. Please do ASAP! legislature goes into recess Nov 16, not to come back till January, so... limited time, want bill moved to W&M's by then.
Easy to do, cut and paste my suggested response, and send.

DARK SKIES ACTION ALERT
November 2, 2009
The Dark Skies bills, S.1481 (Creem), H.3762 (Grant), and H.3764 (McCarthy), were heard by the Energy Committee on April 15th, 2009. No further action has been taken since then. With the end of the first half of the 2009/10 legislative session upon us, its time to urge the Energy Committee to report these bills out of committee favorably.
We need your help to contact the Chairs of the Energy Committee.
Senator Michael Morrissey (D-Quincy)
Michael.W.Morrissey at state.ma.us
Telephone: (617) 722-1494
Representative Barry Finegold (D-Andover)
Rep.BarryFinegold at hou.state.ma.us
Telephone: (617) 722-2263
Tell them that you are calling as a supporter of Light Pollution legislation in Massachusetts.(or as a member of the New England Light Pollution Advisory Group (NELPAG), or the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA).
Tell them why this is important to you, as a constituent, and to the Commonwealth. Tell them that by reducing light pollution the Commonwealth will save money, increase lighting efficiency, and improve visual acuity for drivers by reducing nighttime glare.
Please call or email soon. Report back with any relevant feedback. .
Thank you! I have added a suggested email letter below. feel free to just send, edit your own way, or write your own, but please send something ASAP to these two legislators, thanks.

Hello Rep/Senator.____________,
I am writing to urge you to move forward on House bill 3762 and Senate bill 1481. Both of these important bills deserve to be implemented by Massachusetts.
Passage would not lead to any increased cost to the state or towns. In fact, it will lead to immediate cost savings by lowering wasted energy costs of outdoor lighting, decrease excess carbon dioxide production, and greenhouse gasses, and lead to safer streets by decreasing the disability glare that blinds drivers at night, especially our elderly and anyone with poor eyesight. This is a commonsense measure that is long overdue.
14 states have already passed such measures, including in New England Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. This measure is supported by many in the commonwealth, and 30 towns have proceeded in this measure on their own for the above reasons, and now have better lighting with less energy waste.
Please act on this measure as soon as possible, and report out of the Energy committee with a favorable report.
Sincerely yours,
