Yes, Dave.
We are talking about Ansel Adams method. I believe
that White improved on the system at a later time.
Since both authors had to deal with that old
non-linear material " FILM" , I can imagine that
working with digital images would be a big
improvement.

  The Zone System you're referencing
  was created by none other than Ansel Adams. The
  concepts related in Ron Wadaski's
  (sp) new book are not the same. One could make
  some vague connection between
  the two but it would be a stretch. I suspect Ron
  knows the original zone system
  and took that knowledge into his astrophotography
  practice. It sure does work
  for him!
