[Atmob-discuss] peer advice on a pier

I'd like to get off this tripod in the observatory.

I have an old hefty aluminum highway light pole/base for use as a pier.
Yeah, its not steel, but it is rather thick walled and should do the trick I
think. Its around 6"-7" diameter. I'd like to mount a Losmandy G-11 onto
this, likely by sticking a Losmandy MA adapter on top somehow.

Any ideas on how best to go about this?
I am very open to all opinions/suggestions.
Any suggested shops that can do any required metalwork?

If curious, anyone is welcome to stop by the house/observatory to check
things out (I'm in south Gardner). The observatory and concrete pier base is
all in place. The last step is to get the pier itself finished off and the
G-11 head stuck on.
