Mark,

The cost of replacement is about $220 per fixture (so about $163K for 700 
of Acton's lights- we are not replacing some 50 or so that are already 
flat-lens HPS).

The savings in electricity is about 41%,  or $35K per year.  Metal halide 
or high pressure sodium are much more efficient that the old mercury vapor 
type.

Payback period about 4.5 years.

You would think this is a no brainer, but it took a number of years to 
finally get the Board's attention and get it on the capital list.  The 
replacement cost is free!
