www.metalsource.com in Woburn has a sort of bargain-basement 
assortment at good or excellent prices. 

www.mcmaster.com has almost everything, and amazingly fast 
delivery, but you need to set up an account. 

I would like to know about others.

Does anyone know of a supplier of metal stock (for example, Al rods  1" or 

1.5", small bar stock, etc) that is willing to sell only a small amount?

I'm looking for supplies to make a spider, diagonal holder, mirror cell, 
etc.
