From what I've read, this comet is out between
Mars and Jupiter, so we couldn't be looking at it
tail end-on unless we're
observing it from the asteroid belt, since the
tail of a comet points away from
the Sun. We're looking at it head-on.

away from the nucleus, but it could have been a

separating. Since we are looking tail end-on,
there has to be a lot of
distortion in its appearance. I wonder if the
Sunday Globe or NY Times
mentions it ? Of course it is being eclipsed by
those fabulous Red
