[Atmob-discuss] comet Holmes even larger, in color with jet

I have been monitoring the nuclear region on Thursday and last night and I
can say that there is no particle large enough for my scope to be seen. What
may be happening is large clouds of what ever are being emitted from the
nucleus and this is what we see. I thought I had some particles last week
but cannot confirm that after checking my images.
There is a lot of processing still to be done before I can put an image on
the web.

Mario,
The contrast enhanced image sure looks to me like a fragment has broken away
from the nucleus, but it could have been a spurt of material that is
separating. Since we are looking tail end-on, there has to be a lot of
distortion in its appearance.  I wonder if the Sunday Globe or NY Times
mentions it ?  Of course it is being eclipsed by those fabulous Red Sox  !
