[Atmob-discuss] Comet 17P/Holmes

Now that my scope has begun to settle down (thermally) I can see a very  
condensed central region. The inner part of the coma(?) looks somewhat lopsided  
but the outer halo looks remarkably circular. The color is yellow however, I  
just tried using my UHC filter on the comet and the emerald color is  
amazing...especially when I use averted vision. The comet looks like a giant  planetary 
nebula!!!!! I have to check on the Internet to see if I can find  
adistance...then by estimating the angular extent we could get a rough idea  of its 
actual size!
