[Atmob-discuss] backyard observatory done... now to wiring

Hi all,

I'm happy to say my backyard observatory (the building at least) is up and
in place. I built a 10x14 roll-off, roughly based on the SkyShed design.
I made numerous tweaks and modifications of course to make it a much
stronger/improved structure... which I am quite glad for.

I wanted to inquire with the club to see if anyone was able to get in
touch with me directly regarding electrical wiring of the observatory. I'd
like to put a 50amp line in from the house with a couple circuits in the
building for outlets, lighting, etc.. My intention is to plan it out, do
the 'rough' work myself to save a few pennies, then hire a licensed
electrician to come in for final check and hookup. I have done a lot of
the plan/research, but wanted too see if I could find someone with some
experience through the club for a sanity check of my wiring plan. Its
rather straight forward and simple.

I won't write a long email to flood the list, but if anyone is curious
about the wiring plan or such, feel free to get in touch and I'll gladly
fill in the details.

Going further...

A friend of a friend should be working on my pier in the coming couple of
weeks. I can't wait to get it in place. Right now i'm still stuck with the
old tripod. I have yet to get out with the scope though.

A small warm room is planned (I'll wall off a section and insulate), but
lack of free time and other priorities will likely push that off to next
year. But i'll try my darndest to get it done before snow falls.

If anyone in the club needs info/support on building a SkyShed, feel free
to look me up. I'll be glad to share my opinions/experiences.. i'm no
expert by any means. I learned as I went and ended up with a solid working
roll-off that actually impressed the local building inspector. He wants to
return sometime in the next week or two to take pictures to hang up on the
wall of the building department at the town hall.
