I read that New Scientist article, and I think those way-out cosmological
types should seriously re-examine the contents of their midnight snacks
and libations. This reverse Medusa effect is ridiculous, but if you
remember that Perseus was able to safely slay the lady with snakes for
hair by only looking at her mirrored image, then, not to worry. Whereas
we only observe the universe by way of the mirrored images in our
telescopes, that should cancel out the reverse Medusa effect, and keep
the universe safe from our baleful stares.
You can remove your hair shirt, Mario, and stop crying, "Mea culpa!"
