[ATMoB-discuss] Longitude Dial

Gary,

There is a laser engineer who lives near Stellafane
and also does laser etching as a business out of his
home.. He can provide 8 X 10" black granite slabs,
pre-polished. After a design is worked out, he
transfers it to a CAD program that drives the laser
position. The cost is very reasonable. I have a nice
plaque made up with the Stellafane " Little Man"
Logo that is to be mounted to a lawn sculpture in
the observing field.

If the club works out a design for a flat surface, I
should be able to get a quote. There are hundreds of
longitude designs available as most travelling
merchants in the 16th century carried a pocket
version that gave them the time ( on sunny days) .
