According to Astronomy Magazine, National Astronomy Day is 4/21.

partnership with planetaria nationwide for Astronomy Day 2007."

Sky & Telescope marks their calendars on the 21st, also..

Saturday closest to the first-quarter Moon. In 2006 Astronomy Day was May
6th; it falls on April 21st in 2007 and on May 10th in 2008. However, local

accommodate a special event like an eclipse, planetary alignment, or bright
comet. "

If everyone follows the text from Sky & Tel, which is also on the
AstroLeague site, there should be no questions.

It seems that the NEAF organizers listened to us this year and scheduled
their event for the following weekend.

Hmm ... according to both Wikipedia

<http://www.astroleague.org/al/astroday/astroday.html> , Astronomy Day is
April 21 in 2007. I'm curious; is it held on different weekends in different
parts of the country?

Aargh!!!

 

We have complained to NEAF officials to no avail and Astronomy Day is just
before Texas Star Party.

 

Even Winter Star Party in FL is now getting competition from those that
cannot afford to travel.
