Negative, no nail polish remover or paint remover allowed.
The remover has additives in it that will always leave a residue on the glass. Paint remover is usually an emulsion of Methylene Chloride ( extremely bad stuff) mixed with other chemicals and water to minimize fumes. I have only used it where a lens had been painted and the enamel had to be removed before a regular cleaning.
