Comet McNaught passes closest to the Sun today, and this morning it's already in the field of view of the SOHO LASCO C3 camera, entering from the upper left::

The comet is actually too bright for the camera's CCD, causing a super strong "bloom" artifact from the over-saturation of the pixels. But it's still a great view!
