Dave,
I got out there about 4:45 and spotted the comet about 4:55. I watched it
for about 15 minutes until it was beginning to dim in the atmospheric
haze, and started playing peek-a-boo in a layer of clouds. Twenty minutes
after five was really too late to start looking for it. It was about two
or three finger's width above the horizon.
