I'd been wondering when the first observing report of this guy would
come in on the list. According to Heavens-Above, the comet is currently
at +3.3 mag. Starry Night gives just about the same value. It's getting
brighter and will peak somewhere just below +2 in a few days, but by
then it will be much closer to the Sun. I guess we have a very narrow
window on this one.
I made an attempt this morning at a nearby baseball field, but found
the tree line too high at around ten degrees above the horizon. I
really need a hill. Where is your Burlington site? Is it a place we can
set up at?
