She was the curator of the Harvard College Observatory glass plate 
collection for over 40 years.  She was a champion for women in science and 
astronomy.  She helped save the glass plate collection - largest in the 
world - from deterioration.  You may recall, she was guest speaker at an 
ATMoB meeting that inspired club members like Ed Los to participate in the 
digitizing of the plate collection so that it continues to be a research 
tool for astronomers world wide.  She was quite a woman!!
