Back on last Tuesday night early Wednesday morning I experienced the best seeing I've had for imaging Mars this year, in fact some of the best planetary seeing I've ever had here in New England. While the holidays have cut into my video processing time and I still have several from that night to work on, the best result so far is the top image in this page:

This image was taken less than 5 hours after the closest approach of Mars this apparition. The cloud formation known as the north polar hood has further broken up and more easily reveals the bright white north polar cap.
