With the rain pouring down the last day or so, I finally got the time to finish processing and posting my first deep sky image since last Fall. It's a 9 frame Hydrogen-alpha filtered mosaic of the Horsehead region that was actually started back on November 11th!!! I didn't finish the last sub exposures until March 12th. This project took waayyy too long due to a combination of poor weather and my Losmandy G11 electronics getting fried--- I lost about 5 weeks before the repaired G11 board arrived.
Each of the 9 frames is a 180 minute exposure (18x 10 minute), so their is a total of 27 hours of exposures in the mosaic. I'll never do a mosaic THAT size again!!!
It was taken with my TEC 140 refractor @ f/5.6 (using a TeleVue reducer), ST-10XE CCD and Baader 7nm H-alpha filter.
