I have an odd-sized OTA - which I bought from the club several years ago
- for which I am in search of tube rings to attach to the dovetail
plate/mount.  The tube is a sonotube (or something like it) and has an
outside diameter of approx 195mm and so falls between the standard sizes
on the market (i.e. Orion has 184mm and 235mm rings but nothing in
between - I bought the 184mm rings thinking they may have enough give to
work, but I can't make them quite fit, not sure if they could be
stretched like an undersized wedding ring).  The tube also is fitted
with fairly wide metal flanges at each end, so the rings would have to
be hinged to slip around the body rather than over the ends.
 
Does anybody have something that might work for this tube, the ability
to stretch out the ones I bought, or know of a potential source for
(relatively inexpensive) tube rings?
