All of the options discussed sound good to me so I'll be happy no 
matter which of the many courses of action regarding the newsletter is taken.

This is by far the cheapest monthly meeting club I know of.  Most 
(that I have belonged to) charge over $200 per year and some 
charge addtitionally for food at meetings.  I think it's good to draw 
people in with a free newsletter, free meetings, and free clubhouse 
visits (but not free electricity from the observing site).  People 
will join out of guilt or just to feel like they are part of something.  
The feeling of being part of something (versus an 'outsider') is 
probably the biggest motivator to pay and not the excitement 
of getting that newsletter a month before the freeloaders.
