The K index has dropped (it is now 6) and so has the Geomagetic Storm
potential (from G3, Strong, to G2, Moderate). And, the auroral oval has
not progressed that far south. http://www.sec.noaa.gov/SWN/

Latest Alert: December 14 2122 UTC WATCH: Geomagnetic A-index of 30 or
greater predicted
Last Advisory Bulletin: Geomagnetic Storm In Progress, 2006 Dec 14
1704 UTC

However, we can only hope!!!

Subject: [ATMoB-discuss] possible aurora tonight

The planetary K index is up at 7, thus aurora might be visible from
relatively dark sky sites at our latitude tonight.
