Regarding - "Proposed and accepted: Increase key deposit to $30. Members who have already paid the $5 deposit would need to increase their deposit to the $30." Thirteen or fourteen ATMoB Clubhouse Committee members should not be making this kind of policy change that affects so many others. Not all of us have the time to go to these meetings, and the increase in deposit for existing clubhouse members is equivalent to ATMoB dues for an entire year. Aren't you really financially punishing the rest of the committee members for those individuals who refuse to give back keys ? There's no reason not to think that other people might also leave the area or the club or the committee and forget to return their keys. Such is life, but why is that such a security problem ? Can't we assume that those individuls were considered trustworthy before it was decided to give them a key in the first place ? After all, anyone who was so-inclined could pretty easily break into the facility. Why
not keep the key situation as is AND ALSO INSTALL AN ELECTRONC LOCK. That way, none of the current "legitimate" key holders would have to be bothered: they'd have their key and the electronic lock combination (which could be changed by notifying the current ATMoB Clubhouse membership by email or phone chain if there were a problem]People with keys who were not "legit" would not receive the new electronic lock combination. Come on folks, let's keep things simple and let's presume that the committee's judgement was sound when it handed out keys in the first place. A $5 key deposit plus installation of an electronic lock as outlined above should be more than adequate - even for the paranoid among us. Respectfully submitted, Steve Mock
