BILLERICA-NO
I can't locate any lighting ordinance and based on the lighting around
here...if there was ...it is not being enforced.
my local politicians are fighting to stop
http://www.stopthebillericapowerplant.org/ a power plant .5 miles from my
obs http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/stop-the-billerica-power-plant
I tried to sell him on being green ...I am fighting both fronts showing the
value of turning off the lights to reduce the need for these plants.. and be
a green town
now with this Oprah Article
I may have another tool!
thanks Mario

Subject: [Atmob-announce] Light pollution and Oprah Magazine
Hi all,
The issue of light pollution and medical effects has actually reached
Oprah magazine. Medical research may not be read and thus ignored by nearly
all, but... now that Oprah has stated this is true...?? Are we reaching a
tipping point?
Mario
The August 2008 issue of Oprah Winfrey's "O" Magazine summarizes some
aspects of the Israeli study. Dr. Richard Stevens is one of the study's
authors.
The article specifically points out the likelihood of increased rates of
breast cancer if the person's bedroom window is close to the streetlight.
