Hi,

I wanted to pass along some exciting news and ask folks to respond ASAP
if you want to attend this special program. We have not yet announced it
to the media and wanted to give you advance notice.

On Tuesday April 29, former Apollo astronaut Alan Bean, will be
presenting "Reaching for the Stars" at the Museum of Science.

Program Description:

Space pioneer Alan Bean is the fourth of only twelve humans to have
walked on the Moon. What's it like to be in his shoes? Find out as he
describes what it means to be an astronaut. Learn about his role in the
Apollo 12 mission in 1969, his experience as spacecraft commander of the
second Skylab mission in 1973 -- when he spent 59 days in orbit -- and
his 1,600 + hours in space prior to his 1981 NASA retirement. Bean will
also discuss how he uses his unique paintings to document humankind's
first lunar explorations.

Details:

The talk is from 7 - 8 pm in the Museum's Cahners Theater. Tickets are
free but must be requested by email (alanbeantalk at mos.org) or phone
(617-589-0270) ASAP. Tickets will be available for pick-up in the
Museum's Main Lobby on program night from 5-6:30 pm. Unclaimed tickets
will be released at 6:30 pm.

Once Cahners Theater is filled to capacity, overflow remote seating
within the Museum of Science, will be assigned.

Sincerely,

Noreen Grice, Planetarium
