 Robert Bussard has died.  Among his many projects he is best known for the
 Bussard Ramjet, first conceived of in 1960.  This starship would scoop up
 hydrogen atoms from the interstellar medium for its fusion power drive.
 Technically the ramjet could achieve 99 percent of lightspeed. Larry Niven 
 often utilized bussard ramjets in his SF stories such as Ringworld.
